French toast casserole made even more special by cutting the bread into star shapes with a cookie cutter!

There is something so wonderful about white bread soaked in eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and my secret ingredient....apricot jam. The jam takes it to a new level.

You will need:
butter
20 slices of good quality white bread, day old
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoon apricot jam
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar
  1. Start by greasing a baking dish.
  2. Cut out stars in the bread using a cookie cutter.
  3. Place the stars in the pan.
  4. Beat eggs, milk, jam, sugar and cinnamon until you have a smooth batter.
  5. Pour evenly over the bread.
  6. Place in the fridge and let stand for at least 2 hours.
  7. This will make the mixture soak up into the bread.
  8. Bake at 375F until golden.
  9. Serve warm.
